Fatal Inertia Gets Xbox Release Date, PS3 Undetermined

Fatal Inertia

It’s been a long, long time since we last heard anything about Fatal Inertia, last January in fact, when it slipped from being a PS3 launch title to being a “summer” title. Now we’ve got something a little more definitive, at least for Xbox 360 owners, with the game being given a rather auspicious September 11 release date.

The racer, if you missed our earlier coverage, is an anti-grav title that may superficially look a bit like the classic Wipeout series, but ultimately should be a very different gameplay experience, something more akin to the pod racing scenes in Episode One, zooming over natural looking terrain rather than polished and clean tracks.

It’s unclear what the delay was for, as the attached screens don’t look at all improved over the ones we were seeing this time last year, but it likely has something to do with the game being ported to the Xbox 360. Remember, this game was once a PS3 exclusive launch title. Now, by the looks, it’ll be hitting Microsoft’s box first.
